Vision
Adventure Sports tourism is still a very new concept
and it has not really been accepted an altogether different entity by
our governments as well as our private stakeholders. So the foremost
challenge for us is to change this mindset as Adventure Sports Tourism
has a huge potential and can be an industry on its own. To realize this
we need to foster an atmosphere that is friendly to this industry and
encourage the development of adventure sports activities so that it can
be nurtured and encouraged.
For the development of this industry we need to identify and tap our
resources and develop new products and promote these products as well.
The Society also looks to bring all the Adventure Sport activities under
one forum to organize adventure sports programs in a coordinated manner
for better results and effectiveness. The Society intends to cover all
the Himalayan countries representation under Council Vice Presidents.
The Society looks to collect the information regarding the adventure
sports activities from throughout the Himalayan region and prepare a
calendar of events, and lobby with different government bodies,
international and national sports and tourism associations for promotion
and marketing. It will request the government and National Tourism
Organizations of different countries for promotion of these events so
that there will be synergetic effort from all sides to promote adventure
sports for the benefit of larger section of the society through tourism.
Adventure Sports Tourism Society looks to bridge the gap between sports
and tourism by bringing business in sports so that both adventure sports
and tourism provide impetus to the effort made by both.
